QUENTIN TARANTINO VOL.2

- Alejandra Najera

The Discovery of that which moves you through the world of painting is a constant search… I use vibrant colors in contrast with intensely dark and detailed backgrounds, even if they are out of focus. My work is based on portraits, I like them to be realistic but without them losing my stroke. And for this to generate a visual impact.

I´ve always enjoyed motion pictures and this tribute to the work of Quentin Tarantino speaks loads of it. Taking scenes of movies considered as cult mainly within pop culture into paintings and observing how the spectator recognizes that scene and even remembers part of the dialogue and makes it part of the composition is very gratifying.

Images are carefully selected to achieve a moment of pause within the expression of the character. A never-ending scene for the spectator.
